A central vacuum installation kit needs to match two things: the pipe route through your home and the hose connector at each inlet. These six pipe-inclusive packages cover compact low-voltage layouts, longer runs and powered direct-connect inlets. Measure the route before ordering; extra pipe does not fix an incompatible valve.
Quick picks
Selections compare published parts lists and connection requirements, without hands-on BTG testing.
OVO INST-3P-WH-NAD Central Vacuum Installation Kit, 3 Inlets and 48 ft Pipe
A straightforward starting point for a three-inlet low-voltage layout that fits within 48 ft of pipe. It includes valves, brackets, fittings, control wire and cement; check the hose connection and actual route before ordering.
- 3 low-voltage inlets and brackets
- 48 ft of PVC pipe in 4 ft sections
- 50 ft of control wire and PVC cement
Three inlets and twelve 4 ft pipe sections suit a compact planned route. Inlet count alone does not establish floor-area coverage.
The exact listing specifies a low-voltage system and 2 in outer-diameter piping. Confirm your hose end rather than relying on the word universal.
The listing itemizes elbows, couplings, brackets, control wire and cement. Extra fittings may still be needed for your layout.
Generic Hayden 1500-Style Central Vacuum Installation Kit, 3 Inlets and 80 ft Pipe
Choose this three-inlet kit when a low-voltage route needs more pipe than the 48 ft packages provide. The seller lists useful hose exclusions. Amazon labels the brand Generic and the manufacturer Universal, so verify the exact kit rather than treating the title as a compatibility guarantee.
- 3 Hayden 1500-style inlets
- 80 ft each of pipe and control wire
- Mounting brackets, fittings and manual
Three inlets and 80 ft of pipe in 5 ft sections give more routing allowance than the 48 ft kits. This is supplied length, not measured house coverage.
Hayden 1500-style inlets are specified. The description explicitly excludes direct-connect, pinned Vacuflo, Budd and Kenmore hoses.
The itemized package includes brackets, glue, control wire and installation instructions. Wire gauge and your full route requirements still need checking.
Universal Hayden 1760-Style Electric Central Vacuum Installation Kit, 3 Inlets and 80 ft Pipe
This is the three-inlet choice for a compatible direct-connect electric hose. The package supplies 80 ft of pipe and control wire. Its description also calls for separate electrical wiring from the inlets to a power source, so include that work in the installation plan.
- 3 Hayden 1760-style electric inlets
- 80 ft of pipe and control wire
- Fittings, glue and installation manual
The three-inlet kit includes 80 ft of pipe in sixteen 5 ft sections. Measure branches and vertical runs before treating that allowance as sufficient.
The listing identifies Hayden 1760-style electric inlets for direct-connect hoses. Confirm the exact hose connector and powered inlet arrangement.
Fittings, mounting brackets, glue, control wire and instructions are described. Separate mains wiring adds work beyond the listed control-wire allowance.
Merchandise Mecca ATT123 Central Vacuum Installation Kit, 3 Inlets and 48 ft Pipe
An alternative three-valve package with a clear parts list and 4 ft pipe sections. Its 42 ft control-wire allowance is shorter than its 48 ft pipe allowance, and the exact inlet-to-hose interface needs confirmation before purchase.
- 48 ft of 2 in pipe in 4 ft sections
- 3 inlet valves and mounting plates
- 42 ft of low-voltage wire
The listing specifies three valves and twelve 4 ft sections of pipe. Check the real pipe route rather than assuming three valves cover every room.
The kit lists 2 in pipe and several compatible power-unit brands, but does not establish the exact hose-interface family. Confirm the valves with the seller.
Mounting plates, elbows, couplings, pipe straps and 125 ml of cement are listed. Only 42 ft of low-voltage wire is included, so budget for extra wire if needed.
Universal Hayden 1760-Style Electric Central Vacuum Installation Kit, 2 Inlets and 50 ft Pipe
The smaller direct-connect option makes sense when two inlets and 50 ft of pipe match the planned route. It uses the same stated Hayden 1760-style interface as the larger electric packages, with separate power wiring still required.
- 2 Hayden 1760-style electric inlets
- 50 ft of pipe in ten sections
- 50 ft of control wire and listed fittings
Two inlets and 50 ft of pipe suit a smaller measured layout. They are not a guaranteed square-foot capacity.
The seller specifies Hayden 1760-style electric inlets for direct-connect hoses. Verify your connector before committing to this inlet system.
The package lists elbows, couplings, straps, glue, control wire and instructions. Electrical supply wiring to the powered inlets is additional.
Universal Hayden 1760-Style Electric Central Vacuum Installation Kit, 4 Inlets and 110 ft Pipe
Pick the four-inlet version when the route needs more branches and pipe than the smaller electric kits supply. The exact listing provides 110 ft of pipe and control wire, with mains wiring to each powered inlet planned separately.
- 4 Hayden 1760-style electric inlets
- 110 ft of pipe in twenty-two sections
- 110 ft total listed control wire
Four inlets and 110 ft of pipe provide the largest allowance in this shortlist. Longer routes still need a layout and fitting count.
Hayden 1760-style electric inlets are identified for direct-connect hoses. Four outlets do not remove the need to verify your hose connector.
The list gives twenty-two pipe sections, elbows, couplings, glue and 80 plus 30 ft of control wire. Separate inlet power wiring remains additional.

Lengths are supplied allowances, not guaranteed installed coverage. The three Universal electric kits are quantity variants of the same listed Hayden 1760-style design. Pipe diameter and hose-inlet diameter describe different connections. The 80 ft low-voltage kit is labeled Generic on Amazon, with Universal in its manufacturer field.
Which inlet system fits your hose?
Low-voltage valves
Start with the hose you intend to use. The OVO kit specifies low-voltage control and a 2 in outer-diameter pipe network. The Generic 80 ft kit is more specific about its Hayden 1500-style inlet: its description excludes direct-connect hoses, pinned Vacuflo low-voltage hoses, Budd and Kenmore. Those exclusions matter more than a broad claim that a kit is universal.
Merchandise Mecca lists several compatible central vacuum brands, but that list does not establish the exact valve-to-hose interface. Ask the seller to confirm your hose connector against the ATT123 valves before buying. A matching power-unit brand alone is insufficient.
Electric direct-connect valves
The Universal 50, 80 and 110 ft electric kits specify Hayden 1760-style inlets for direct-connect hoses. Choose among them by inlet count and measured pipe route. Their control-wire allowances connect the inlet controls back to the vacuum unit; each listing also describes separate electrical wiring from the powered inlets to a supply. Include that work in the plan and have a qualified installer determine the electrical requirements.
Plan the route and count the missing pieces
Mark each proposed inlet on a floor plan and check whether your actual hose reaches around furniture and doorways. Then measure the pipe path, including branches, vertical runs and the connection to the power unit. Count the elbows, tees, mounting plates and couplings that path needs. A package can have enough total pipe and still lack a fitting for your route.
Pipe section length also changes the packing list. OVO and Merchandise Mecca provide twelve 4 ft sections for 48 ft total. The selected Generic low-voltage and Universal electric kits use 5 ft sections. Choose the allowance that fits your route rather than treating more inlets as a fixed square-foot rating.
Count control wire separately. The OVO 48 ft package lists 50 ft of 24 V wire. Merchandise Mecca supplies 42 ft of low-voltage wire with 48 ft of pipe, so it may need an extra wire purchase even when its pipe allowance is enough. The four-inlet electric kit lists 80 ft plus 30 ft of control wire, giving 110 ft total. Wire gauge is not verified here.
These kits cover the rough-in
The recommendation is for the pipe network, inlets and listed installation supplies. Budget separately for the vacuum power unit, compatible cleaning hose and cleaning tools. Confirm any optional adapters and flexible couplers against the exact order. OVO’s linked power-unit manual describes flexible connection pieces as separately sold, so we have not added them to the installation-kit contents.
Follow the exact unit and inlet instructions for assembly and electrical work. OVO’s power-unit manual distinguishes flexible connections secured with clamps from glued rigid pipe joints. Keep the unit accessible for emptying and service. That manual explains the power-unit connection; it does not establish the parts count for any of these six packages.
How we chose these kits
We screened 23 distinct Amazon US candidates, excluding cleaning-hose bundles, power units, individual fittings and fittings-only kits. The shortlist uses exact ASINs and selected inlet quantities. OVO, Universal and Merchandise Mecca are three named Amazon brand labels; the additional low-voltage kit is explicitly labeled Generic. Names such as Beam and NuTone in compatibility lists were not counted as kit brands.
Our editorial ratings use the same three dimensions on every card: route fit (40%), connection match (35%) and kit readiness (25%). The first assesses documented pipe and inlet allowances, the second assesses interface and electrical information, and the third assesses the supplied installation components. Scores reflect published suitability and the information available to plan a purchase. They do not measure suction, leakage, service life or electrical certification.
Order follows installation scenarios, rather than descending ratings. We checked the exact product pages, the separate OVO fittings-only product page and the OVO power-unit manual. The manufacturer’s KIT-3INLET page excludes pipe and is a different bundle from the INST-3P-WH-NAD finalist. Its contents were not substituted for that Amazon package.
Common questions
Does universal mean every hose will fit?
No. Check the named inlet family, hose connector and any electrical contacts. The Generic kit’s explicit hose exclusions show why a general compatibility claim needs an interface check. Confirm uncertain combinations with the seller before installing valves in a wall.
Is the included wire enough to power an electric inlet?
The Universal electric-kit descriptions distinguish the included low-voltage control wire from additional electrical supply wiring. Do not treat the listed 50, 80 or 110 ft control-wire allowance as a mains wiring package.
Can I choose by the number of rooms?
Use a measured hose-reach and pipe-routing plan. Room size, doors and the route back to the vacuum unit can change the required inlet and fitting count. We have not converted the listed inlet quantities into guaranteed home coverage.
Final verdict
The OVO INST-3P-WH-NAD is a useful compact low-voltage starting point when three inlets and 48 ft of pipe match the plan. Choose the Generic Hayden 1500-style 80 ft package for a longer low-voltage route only after checking its stated hose exclusions. For a compatible direct-connect electric hose, use the Universal two-, three- or four-inlet kit that matches the measured route, and plan the additional inlet power wiring.
Merchandise Mecca ATT123 is another 48 ft option with an itemized parts list, but confirm its valve interface and account for the shorter control-wire allowance. Buy only after those two details are settled.
